Hello from Makenna at Fabrik Salon!

My name is Makenna, and I have been in the customer service industry for 10 years. I first started working at the age of 16 at a pizza place and have worked numerous restaurant jobs dedicated to serving excellent food and providing welcoming service.

Transitioning to the Salon World

More recently, I’ve worked in the hospitality industry, working my way up the ladder to the front desk supervisor position at one of the best hotels in Missoula. In need of a change but still wanting to put my valuable customer service skills to use, I decided to try working in a salon.

Before Fabrik Salon, I had absolutely no idea of the vast amount of things you could do in the salon world. Although it is overwhelming at times, I still push through to learn all things hair, nails, and esthetics. Here at Fabrik, we pride ourselves on providing an exceptional experience that goes beyond just appointments. It’s about creating a high-end environment where every detail matters. We call my position the Salon Concierge.

Commitment to Guest Experience

Dedicated to providing the best service possible, I frequently check in with clients to see if they need any drinks or snacks! One of my favorite services to provide is making signature cocktails for 21+ clients. It’s something that I feel makes Fabrik Salon stand out from other places. Whether it’s a cucumber gimlet or a freshly muddled strawberry cocktail, I love to try new things and create fun drinks that enhance our guests' experience.

Embracing New Challenges

The most challenging new thing for me has been learning how to curate content for social media and start getting MailChimp down. I’ve never been into the latest trends or dealt with creating content, coming up with ideas, or using various apps to create engaging posts. However, in this day and age, it is a very useful skill to hone, and I’m grateful to continue learning about it and growing my skills to better connect with our community.

Life Beyond the Salon

When I’m not working to keep the salon clean, tidy, and stocked with drinks and little snacks, I can be found moseying around Missoula with a coffee in hand or at the park with my little one, soaking in every minute of the draining yet incredibly rewarding benefits of motherhood.

In the summers, I love paddleboarding, floating, and being outside with my boyfriend and little girl. In the winters, I enjoy staying in and baking while watching my favorite shows and playing my favorite video games.
